FFmpeg / Mplayer auto installer script is needed any any server nowadays if you plan to host video files. Who doesn’t host video files these days?

Varnish is a nice front end cache service you can run on any Apache server. It helps reduce the load on your server and display pages faster by caching common accessed files on the server side.

Nginx is another front end caching option. It works almost as well as Varnish. If your server does not have a lot of memory Nginx is the best choice as it does have a smaller footprint.
