With “Thirteen Reasons Why” the discussion about suicide has increased. While both teen suicide and suicide in general is a big problem the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline recently launched a new service. In addition to the hotline of 1-800-273-TALK (8255) they now have a crisis chat at http://chat.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/GetHelp/LifelineChat.aspx
Both the phone number and chat run 24/7. The crisis chat is truly the best way to reach out to younger at risk individuals plus more and more adults prefer to text or use a messenger app than make a phone call.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline also has provided a couple of videos which are below. They are part of a safe space that are calming. I have no opinion on these videos but they can’t hurt right?
