Kids are fast. Moms are not. Add wheels to the bottom of a pair of shoes and kids are even faster. Now moms have the opportunity to skate right along side their kids now that Heelys are available in larger sizes.
Drama King loves his pair of Heelys. He wears them everywhere with and without the skates. Primarily without the skates as he hasn’t quite perfected skating in them but I know he will soon. He even said that all kids should have Heelys.
I noticed a few things when I tried to slip my foot into them. Yes, my foot is tiny so we’re pretty close in shoe size already. I was concerned about the limited arch in a Heelys shoe compared to a standard shoe. It hasn’t phased Drama King but might pose a problem if you were to use the shoe as a primary shoe and not an occasional shoe.
I was also surprised that the shoe has no place to store the wheels when you don’t want to use them as a skate. This means I have to carry the wheels with us whenever we go places.
Overall, the shoes have been a big hit around here but you certainly won’t catch me on wheeled shoes or in a skating rink for that matter any time soon.

Thanks for this! I have to admit…I’ve totally wanted a pair since I first saw them. They’re just too fun. The info about the arch support, or lack of, is helpful. Thanks for throwing that in there. 🙂
