Limited space in our house means that almost everything must be multi-functional or the item might find itself in our donate box. Thankfully, these baking cups are extremely versatile and have already been used for many things. So, I gathered some terrific ideas for alternative uses when you are debating whether or not to keep these liners around your home.
Make cupcakes
So this is the obvious one as cupcakes are basically a sweet muffin with frosting. The boys love silicone muffins liner because the muffins don’t stick to the liners like it does with paper liners. This means more muffin goodness goes into the boys’ mouths.
Deconstructed Super Nachos
Little T is not a fan of our super nachos even though he loves all the toppings. So I serve his super nacho in a deconstructed fashion using these cups to hold his favorite toppings.
Make Peanut Butter Cups
We used mini silicone muffin liners to make bite-sized peanut butter cups but the standard size liners are perfect for the standard size.
Condiment holder
Whether holding ketchup, steak sauce or ranch dressing, these are perfect size for serving dipping sauces for the boys. Bonus points because I don’t have to worry about them breaking unlike the glass ones we own.
Peel garlic
Yes, I used a liner to help loosen the skin off some garlic bulbs. Fastest garlic peeling in a long time.
Coin sorting
Building good money habits means a lot of coin counting and these are perfect for the job. Just make sure you do a thorough cleaning job before using them for food again. Perhaps you should just buy another set.
Hold medicine
This was the first thing I did with our set as I needed a place to hold my medicine so I wouldn’t forget to take it with lunch.
Build Your Own Lunchable
Silicone muffin liners are the perfect size to hold those famous round crackers. And don’t fret if you’re like me and prefer saltines as the liners also come in other shapes.
Organize your junk drawer
We all have that one drawer that is a magnet for junk. Use the liners to separate the drawer into areas. Screws, nuts, and bolts into the blue liner. Twist ties and plastic clips into the red liner. Rocks, pebbles, and other nature “gems” into the green liner. This would also work for any other drawer with small items like earrings, fingernail clippers, Chapstick tubes, marbles or batteries.
Make Crayon Discs
You’ll certainly want to have a set dedicated to this task but you could melt good quality crayons and pour into the liners to make new crayon discs.
Don’t have any? Need more?
These bright colorful silicone muffin liners are extremely versatile. Our boys love how easily the muffins slip out of these liners unlike how they stick to paper liners. My only complaint would be how thin the liners are compared to another brand we own. The thinner walls means these are moldable to other containers but make it a little tougher when they stand alone.
