We love Italian salad dressing. It is the salad dressing we use the most unless you count ranch being used on things other than salad, like pizza or fried zucchini.
Sometimes, it is hard to keep Good Seasons Zesty Italian salad dressing mix on hand, but we have created a pretty decent substitute with only ingredients we already have in our spice cabinet.
Italian Dressing Mix
Why buy a dressing or spice packets when you can make your own with what you have in your spice cabinet.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 2 tablespoon oregano dried
- 1 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme dried
- 1 teaspoon basil dried
- 1 tablespoon parsley dried
- 1/2 teaspoon Morton Nature’s Seasons Seasoning Blend
- 2 tablespoon salt
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Use within 6 months.
Notes
To prepare dressing, whisk together 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 2/3 cup canola oil, 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons of the dry mix.
