Drama King loves to find out interesting things about his birthday so naturally this was a perfect fit for him. I placed my order on a Saturday afternoon and figured I get the item sometime on Monday as most companies don’t handle business on weekends. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the Birthday Chronicle was in my inbox within a few hours.

When I was 14 (mid 90s), I received a similar item and I still have it today. It is printed on Hallmark paper and has a Hallmark envelope so I’m going to assume it was purchased at a Hallmark location and will compare this Birthday Chronicle to the Hallmark version.

Price – I’m pretty sure the Hallmark version was more expensive as it comes with an envelope, printed copy, card stock folder to hold the printed copy and has the Hallmark name. However, the Birthday Chronicle is reasonably priced at $2 for an email PDF copy and I can print it as many times as I need. Adding in the price of paper, I’m pretty sure the cost is still lower than the Hallmark version.

Quality – The Hallmark one is printed on a standard sheet of paper so I can print the same quality from home. The wow factor is pretty minimum with the Hallmark version but the Birthday Chronicle looks like a newspaper with catchy titles and better layout.
