A while back, I had the opportunity to review Home-Ec 101: Skills for Everyday Living – Cook it, Clean it, Fix it, Wash it by Heather Solos and I loved the book. I’ve begun following her site and have marveled at how she is willing to part with so much of her knowledge to help her readers.
And if you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed that Drama King left some gum in his pocket and it ended up in the dryer. All over the dryer. I was frantic and couldn’t figure out how to get it out of the dryer. Heather to the rescue.
Me:
Help! How do you get gum out of a dryer? Apparently our gum loving 6yo left one in his pocket. @heathersolos
Heather:
@amboutwe http://bit.ly/kN1x4I this is for crayons, but same steps, also use a hair dryer +credit card to scrape up the big chunks 1st
Me:
@HeatherSolos Thanks for the info. Happy to report that the dryer is clear of gum. Hair dryer might have helped but I don't own one.
All in less than 18 hours. And it probably would have been even faster if I had noticed the gum during the day and not close to midnight. It’s amazing to have an expert available to offer solutions.
