The boys keep returning to the Square by Square® game to master another one (or three) cards. Square by Square® is a super simple game. Well, at least you think that when you first pull the game out to play it but each card gets harder as you go. But it also gets easier because you start to plan out your pieces and you know which pieces are the hardest to place given the shape you’re creating. The Square By Square® game consists of eight blue and six green square game pieces in various combinations and it’s your goal to recreate the image on the challenge card.
Thankfully each challenge card also contains two hints on the back of the card in the even you get stuck. The challenge cards can be stored under the game board. The square game pieces simply sit on the recessed game board which makes portability a bit of a challenge. There is a mesh bag included to hold the game board and pieces but it would be better if the pieces could be secured to the board without the mesh bag for the boys to misplace when we’re traveling. At least mesh bags are typically sold at dollar stores in the event you can’t find the included one.
For people of all ages who want to challenge their mind and sharpen their skills, ThinkFun is the world’s leader in addictively fun games that build reasoning and creative thinking skills through play.
Once our boys have mastered each challenge, the game won’t be over! They can create their own challenges for each other. Toss in a stop watch and they can time each other and see who is faster or beat their own best time. Plus once the game is out of sight for a few days, the challenges are locked away in your brain so it’s like starting all over.
ThinkFun has a wide selection of brain challenging games starting at $4.99 and are geared to everyone from the toddler sitting on your lap to a grandparent strengthening their memory.
