#AtoZChallenge – I Scream. You Scream. We All Scream For Ice Cream

This month we’ve taken on a challenge – one that involves blogging through the alphabet. Our theme for the challenge is food. Who doesn’t love a cool treat on a hot day? Come share your thoughts on ice cream.

A-to-Z-April-Challenge-zebra-002 This month we’ve taken on a challenge – one that involves blogging through the alphabet. Did you miss a letter? Catch up now.

Ice cream is a glorious treat on a hot day. Or a cold day. Or any day for that matter. Especially if it’s cover in your favorite toppings!

Ice cream sundae bars are a favorite dessert around these parts. Chocolate syrup, strawberry topping, butterscotch syrup, whipped cream, and cherries are just a few of our favorite toppings.

Our boys love when we blend up their favorite shakes made with their choice of ice cream, syrups, milk, and a splash of vanilla. It’s the preferred choice when it comes to taking unpleasant medicines.

A while back we attempted to make our own ice cream in a bag which worked but was a LOT of work so we’ll stick to store bought for now. Although I’ve contemplated getting an ice cream maker.

Have you ever made your own ice cream?

Great post! Found you on a to z. Yes, I make my own ice-cream. I used to work at Williams-Sonoma, and I bought a fancy Cuisinart ice-cream maker. Not to sound like a commercial, but it makes the best ice-cream. You just put the cylinder in the freezer ahead of time (must chill for 24 hours– so I just leave mine in the freezer all the time) and then when you are ready to make ice-cream, you toss in the 4 or 5 ingredients, and voila! 20 minutes later, beautiful gelato consistency ice-cream. Trust me, you will never go back.

Hope you might have time to visit my blog too.

Yes, I have tried to make it for my 6 year old, and in my sons language they have been terrible! So far my wife hasnt tried, because she is aware that if it turns out to be bad, there wont be any homemade ice-cream in my house :)!
