Slow Cooker Stew
Nothing beats coming home to a fully prepared meal. This slow cooker stew recipe makes perfectly tender meat, potatoes, and veggies. Packed with flavor.
- 2 lbs stew meat cut into 1-2″ cubes
- 4 small potatoes peeled and cut into bite size pieces
- 1 lb carrots peeled and cut into bite size pieces
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 celery ribs thick sliced
- 10.75 oz tomatoes diced, canned
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 tsp pepper fresh cracked
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Morton Nature’s Seasons Seasoning Blend
Place stew meat at bottom of slow cooker.
Add the potatoes on top of the meat.
Sprinkle spices over potatoes and meat.
Layer the carrots, onion, celery over the potato layer.
Pour the can of tomatoes on top.
Pour beef broth over everything.
Cook in slow cooker on LOW for 10-12 hours or on HIGH for 5-6 hours.
Ingredients can be prepared ahead of time and frozen, separating the ingredients by step. From frozen, it will take longer so you’ll probably want to start it on high and then move to low when it gets close to being ready.
Leftovers can be frozen, as well.
Since this is a slow cooker recipe, it’s kid friendly for making and eating. The adult can do the hard prep stuff and kids can add and stir ingredients in the slow cooker. Also, a great way to teach kids how to cut meat and veggies when they get to an appropriate age. Stew doesn’t require perfectly sized ingredients so perfect for someone who’s learning to use a knife.
