Speekee Spanish

speekee

Speekee® helps teach young children Spanish in the classroom, on DVD or online. Filmed in Spain with real Spanish children. 10 episodes with songs, animation and puppets. Plus free downloads.

Little T and Drama King had so much fun watching each episode. The characters are entertaining while teaching Spanish. The printable worksheets are great reinforcement to the videos.

It, also, helped me recall some of the Spanish I learned as a child. I know enough Spanish to be dangerous but not enough to say I’m fluent. I had a few private lessons to get some basics when I was in middle school because I participated in an exchange program through my school. I, also, took two semesters of Spanish in college.

The boys and I had fun asking simple questions like “¿Cómo te llamas?” and responding with “Me llamo {name},” or “Soy {name}.” We also identified colors like rojo (red) and azul (blue), which happen to be the boys favorite colors.

Angi grew up in southern Arizona but now lives in central New Mexico with her husband, two sons and three dogs. She creates, she responds to Yoast support requests, and she loves to ramble on about anything. When not doing those, she can be found curled up with a good book or watching any one of her favorite TV shows, movies, or an American football game.

I like the fact that they used real Spanish children for accents, and not English or American with a Spanish accent over the top.

What I love about Speekee is that they don’t try to sell you stuff, they actually have online materials and videos that help kids learn way better than from the books only. Thumbs up!
